There are so many different things that you could do to help at My Time…..

Our strength is in the support from members of the community

People are our greatest resource. Our fantastic volunteers and the financial help from local groups and individuals make My Time activities possible. We now need even more help and support to reach the growing number of young carers who need safe and reliable time off . So, no matter how much time or money you are able to give, you can be sure you will be making a big difference to a young carer. Thank you!

Take a look below to see the different ways that you can help…

  • Donate

Every donation, big or small helps us to give young carers some fun and time to be carefree. We appreciate every penny that is given to us for our work.

Because of the financial support we receive from the public and the amazing input from volunteers, we are able to provide free transport, food and activities for our members. We spend our money wisely, and even though trips out are far from cheap, we are able to produce a very varied programme of activities.

Donations can be made though JustGiving and can be one-off or monthly gifts. They don’t charge us any fees which is great!

If you would like to hear more about our charity, we would welcome the invitation to come along for a chat or send you some leaflets.

With the help of amazing supporters like you, we can bring some fun and laughter to our young carers.

    Thank you!

  • Volunteer

Drivers (over 21 and fully insured)

Without drivers, very few of our children and young people would get to club or any outings. Clubs are in the early evening. Expenses are reimbursed.

    Helpers

Club helpers provide support for the Session Leaders. All you need is a friendly personality, non-judgemental attitude and a sense of fun.

Students participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme often help us helping at the clubs in Dorking and Ewell.

Maybe you could help out at fêtes and fairs, or with other PR initiatives? Raising awareness of the needs of young carers as well as raising the profile of My Time is really important to us.

    Board Members

We would welcome new Trustees who are committed to the ethos of My Time.

  • Fundraise

There are so many ways to raise funds - from tandem bike rides to baking cakes, donating items that we can sell at fairs and table-top sales, raffles, concerts, runs or cycles, club collections or anything else you can think of!

How about timed challenges, endurance tests, world record attempts or personal feats? A sweepstake is a really easy way to add a bit of competitive fun if you're taking on a challenge event. Ask people to make a donation to guess your finish time!

If you're celebrating a wedding, civil partnership, birthday, or another important milestone, you can also help raise money for My Time with gift donations or a charity wedding favour.

We are also registered on GIve as you Live which is a free and easy way to raise money when you shop online. Shop at over 5,500 stores and you’ll be helping us! You can also browse loads of great offers and voucher codes.

If you need some help with ideas and how to make your fundraising a success, just get in touch.

To work with any young person is rewarding, but to be able to provide a safe, care-free environment for kids who spend much of their lives caring for others is a privilege.  These are great kids, who get on with their lives in what are sometimes very difficult circumstances - they are inspirational.” - Lucy
